The wait is finally over. The Staff Selection Commission released the SSC GD Answer Key 2026 on June 15. Now all the candidates who took the Constable GD computer-based test between April 27 and May 30 can log in. See their response sheet. They can find out how they did on the SSC GD test. The Staff Selection Commission is helping lakhs of candidates find out where they stand on the SSC GD test.
This is the answer key, not the final one. That makes a difference, and we will discuss it later. The key thing for SSC GD 2026 candidates now is that the objection window closes on June 20, 2026, at 6:00 PM. You only have five days. If you find any mistakes, in the answer key you must challenge it before the deadline. After that you won’t be able to object. The window will close for good.
The exam took place at different times and locations all over the country. It was to fill 25,487 jobs in CAPFs, SSF, and Assam Rifles. This is an SSC recruitment drive. Many people took the exam. Now many are looking at the answer key. Here is what you should know.

Why Does the Answer Key Matter and Why You Should Check It Today
The provisional answer key is like a sneak peek at how you did on your exam before the SSC says anything about the results. Everything you did in the CBT, like every question and every option you picked, is written down. You can see it all in your own response sheet. The provisional answer key tells you what the SSC thinks is the answer for each question.
When you put these two things together, you can figure out what your score might be even before the results are out.
This is really helpful. If the score you calculate is clearly above the cut-off mark you need, you can start getting ready for the Physical Efficiency Test, which is the next step. If your score is not so clear, you know where you are. You do not have to guess or wait to hear things from people in coaching center WhatsApp groups.
There is another reason to check carefully. The provisional answer key is not stamped as correct and final by default. SSC has explicitly kept the objection window open because errors do occasionally appear. A miskeyed answer, a question with two defensible correct options, a translation issue in bilingual papers these things happen. Catching one and getting it corrected through the official process could mean the difference between qualifying and not.
How to Download SSC GD Answer Key 2026 – Step by Step
Everything happens through the official SSC website. Nothing is available through any other portal.
Step 1 – Open ssc.gov.in on your browser
Step 2 – On the homepage, find and click the Answer Key section or the SSC GD Constable 2026 Answer Key notification link
Step 3 – Log in using your Registration Number and Password (the same credentials used during application)
Step 4 – Enter the Captcha code displayed on the screen
Step 5 – Click on “Generate Response Sheet”
Step 6 – Your individual response sheet will appear showing what answer you marked for each question, alongside the provisional correct answer
Step 7 – Download and save the PDF. Take a screenshot as backup. You will need this document if you plan to raise any objections.
There are two things that candidates always seem to mess up. First they use the password. The password you need to use for your SSC login is the one you created when you signed up, not the day you were born or some password that was made for you. If you cannot remember it, you can reset your password on the website. Second, they try to look at the answer key on their phone when the connection’s slow and it is almost too late. You should do this now when your internet is working well, not on the evening of June 20.
How to Challenge the Answer Key If You Find Something Wrong
If you think that the Staff Selection Commission has marked an answer, you can object to it. The Staff Selection Commission has a process for this. It is all online. This process will be open until June 20, 2026, at 6:00 PM. You can use the Staff Selection Commission objection process during this time. The Staff Selection Commission will accept your objection until June 20, 2026, at 6:00 PM.
Step 1 – Log in to ssc.gov.in with your registration credentials
Step 2 – Open the Answer Key Challenge section
Step 3 – Select the specific question number you want to challenge
Step 4 – Upload your supporting reference, a textbook page, an NCERT chapter, or a recognized source that supports your answer. Objections submitted without evidence are rejected.
Step 5 – Pay ₹50 per question online (UPI, net banking, card)
Step 6 – Submit and download the acknowledgement receipt
One important thing to know is that you have to pay a ₹50 fee, and in some cases you will not get it back. If you disagree with the answer and your disagreement is accepted and the correct answer is changed, then the Staff Selection Commission usually gives back the fee for that one question. So make sure you keep the receipt that shows you paid the fee.
Do not challenge an answer because it looks different from what your coaching material said. Only challenge when you have a strong, sourceable reason. SSC’s subject experts review every objection vague challenges waste your fee and time.
What Happens After the Objection Window Closes
Once June 20 passes, SSC’s experts review every objection that was submitted. Valid challenges, those backed by credible references, are accepted. The answer key is updated accordingly. Everything else is rejected.
The Final Answer Key comes out after this review process. That version is the one used to calculate official scores. Normalization is applied across all CBT sessions and shifts before final merit lists are prepared, because the exam ran across different dates and different question sets.
After the final answer key is out, the result will be announced. The SSC GD 2026 result is expected to come out in July 2026. This is not a fixed date it depends on how the commission finishes the review process.
If you do well in the computer-based test and get marks above the cutoff, you will move to the next stage. On the stage you have to take the Physical Efficiency Test and the Physical Standard Test. After that you will have to go for a medical examination. The SSC GD 2026 result is very important for the candidates who are taking the SSC GD 2026 exam.
What Cut-Off Marks to Expect
No one can predict cut-offs with certainty. Anyone giving you precise category-wise cut-off numbers right now is guessing. That said, a few factors shape where cut-offs land.
The total number of vacancies, 25,487, is large. More vacancies generally means wider selection and somewhat lower effective cut-offs compared to smaller recruitment drives. However, the number of candidates who appeared is also very large, which balances that effect.
Exam difficulty matters too. The April-May 2026 CBT ran across multiple shifts with normalized scoring, which means difficulty variation between shifts is accounted for mathematically. The actual cut-off will be derived from normalized scores, not raw scores.
So when we look at the SSC GD exam, we can see that in 2021 and 2023 the cutoff marks for men in the category were usually around the high 90s to low 100s out of 160. This was different for posts and states. The cutoff marks for people in the category were lower. For the SSC GD 2026 cycle the cutoff marks may be around the same. We should not think that it will be the same for sure we can just use this as a rough idea to plan. The SSC GD cutoff marks can vary a lot, so we should just use this as a guide for the SSC GD exam.

Tips Before You Close This Page
Download your response sheet now not tomorrow, today. The portal works best when it is not congested. Closer to June 20, traffic will increase and loading times will suffer.
Keep the downloaded PDF somewhere you will not lose it. You may need it as a reference during document verification months from now.
If you are planning to challenge any answer, give yourself at least two full days before June 20 to research properly. Rushing a challenge on the last evening without proper evidence is a waste of ₹50.
And stop refreshing unofficial Telegram channels for cut-off predictions. Use the energy to start your PET preparation instead if your estimated score is in a reasonable range, the physical stage is what matters next.
